rails to oblivion - 2005

During 1995 the Costa Rican government closed down the railway that for 123 years connected the main city of San Jose in the central mountains of the country with the major port of Limon in the Caribbean coast.

In 2003 a friend and I walked for two days along the lenght of the abandoned railway. We started our walk in the town of Turrialba with the goal of reaching the town of Siquirres, several kilometers down the Reventazon River canyon.
